Purpose: Integration of Sustainable Drainage System elements in a property with inundation problems

Technical characteristics:

  • Project designed to minimize inundation on site;
  • Application of several sustainable drainage techniques (rain gardens, lawns and planter’s)
  • 100% of the rainwater absorbed by the land in 90% of the rainfall of the year, reducing the possibility of inundation in the area;
  • Use of deep infiltrators, creating a “lung” of groundwater that is slowly absorbed by the ground;
  • Integration of sustainable drainage techniques with local landscaping;
  • Creation of an organic vegetable garden as pedagogical element to the users.
